I have two Tosa Inu's a male and a female, I obtained them from a breeder. One is 6 year's old and the other is 3 years. They are great guard dogs but are very wary of strangers even with a lot of socialization as pups. They love to hunt and tend to kill but not eat all prey (we live on farm). They're loving pets and great with kids in the family very playful high energy dogs and do not snap when tugged and pulled. They have issues cooling down in the heat so they love to swim alot. They are very tentative and are easy to train using positive reinforcement. I would not recommend them for anyone with a small yard. They are the best dogs anyone can ask for.
